Such Boys

# 1

Two young boys are crossing Bel Field right now. It is 3:08 P.M., and the afternoon sun must be excruciating. They are only children, ten or twelve years old at most. They are both in white. And they are holding hands.

Yesterday, a young man (barely scratching the surface of 6) confided in me that he has a crush on one of his classmates in the Summer Enrichment Program. "She's so perfect," he sighed, "I'm surprised she likes talking to me."

An old college classmate of mine is a math teacher in the Ateneo Grade School.

He is very tan, and very happy. This is what being around children everyday will do to a person: with so much youthful energy and innocent optimism saturating your immediate environment, it is inevitable that some of that positivity will reflect on you.

I miss telling stories to kids.

# 5

Finally, I have my own stories to tell.
